What is the definition of a Spiritual Awakening?

A spiritual awakening can be defined as the realisation of one’s true self, distinct from the confines of the mind, body, and ego. It encompasses a deep understanding that enables us to transcend ignorance and wrong beliefs. Through the process of Self-realisation, known as Gnan Vidhi, in Akram Vignan, we gain the right understanding that allows us to experience profound inner bliss even in the face of life’s various difficulties and challenges.

Akram Vignan is a spiritual path and teaching founded by Pujya Dada Bhagwan, a fully enlightened being (Gnani Purush) from India. Akram Vignan, also known as the science of Self-Realisation, offers a direct and accelerated path to spiritual awakening and liberation. The term “Akram” means “without steps” or “instant,” indicating that it provides a simple shortcut to attaining Self-Realisation.

In Akram Vignan, Self-Realisation is the key to liberating oneself from the cycle of birth and death. It is through the grace of a Gnani Purush that one can attain Self-Realisation within two hours, without the need for years of spiritual practices or renunciation etc. The Gnani Purush has the ability to bestow upon seekers the direct experience and understanding of their true self, bypassing the gradual progression often associated with traditional spiritual paths.

Akram Vignan emphasises experiential understanding over intellectual knowledge. It teaches that the true nature of the self is separate from the mind, body, and ego, and through Self-Realisation, one can go above the wrong belief with these temporary properties and realise their eternal and blissful Self. The teachings of Akram Vignan provide practical insights and methods to help individuals navigate their daily lives and experience inner peace, harmony, and liberation in difficult situations.

Spiritual awakening in Akram is considered beneficial for humanity for several reasons:

1. Liberation from Suffering: The concept of Liberation from Suffering is central to Akram’s philosophy. The root cause of human suffering lies in the wrong belief that ‘I am mind and body and ego’, leading to unfulfilled desires, attachments, and ego-driven actions. Spiritual awakening in Akram is seen as a process of recognising one’s true nature as pure consciousness beyond the limitations of the mind and body. This realisation leads to freedom from suffering through the right understanding, thereby enabling individuals to experience lasting peace and happiness.

2. Harmonious Relationships: Spiritual awakening in Akram emphasises the importance of seeing everyone from the real viewpoint, which is to see the pure Soul within everyone. This understanding fosters harmonious relationships, as individuals interact with others based on a deep sense of oneness rather than through the lens of separation opinions and conflicts.

3. Not to hurt any living being: Pivotal to Akram Vignan is not to hurt any living being to the slightest extent. By determining not to inflict pain or suffering on others, one contributes to creating more peaceful and harmonious relationships. Our actions have a ripple effect, and when we embody non-violence, we inspire others to do the same, creating a positive and uplifting environment.

4. The practice of asking for forgiveness (pratikraman). Pratikraman becomes the key aspect of all those who are spiritually awakened. Pratikraman is a process of repentance and seeking forgiveness that helps to cleanse the mistake and restore inner balance and harmony.

5. Contribution to Salvation for the World: Akram emphasises that spiritual awakening is not solely an individual pursuit but has a wider purpose. Those who are Self-realised are engaged in spreading peace, permanent happiness and the knowledge of the Self to the entire world. By being instrumental in spreading spiritual science and serving others selflessly, they contribute to the upliftment and betterment of society.

Akram Vignan is a positive force for humanity, as it frees mankind from suffering, misery, and the cycles of births and rebirths. This path leads to ultimate freedom from all suffering. Therefore, there is no cause for concern but rather a time to rejoice that such a path as opened up!
