{*Did you know you can write on Elephant? Here’s how—big changes: How to Write & Make Money or at least Be of Benefit on Elephant. ~ Waylon}

I’m sorry.
I’m sorry a bunch,
And I would rather give you a bunch of flowers—
As many as each day it has taken me to find you.
Equivalent to the shyness of 23 years,
I’m sorry—
A rose.
I’m sorry—
A daffodil.
I’m sorry—
A sunflower.
I’m sorry,
An iris.
I’m sorry—
A ghost orchid,
Like the ones
You said you want at our wedding some day.
Oh, how I hope that day comes.
Not just for me, not just for you,
But for everyone who has ever known me and
The demons I have faced to that day.
For then they will know I am in good hands.
But until then,
I’m sorry.
I’m sorry for venting to you like you’re an unpaid
Therapist.
I’m sorry for venting to you like my lips never
Sit together in silence.
I’m sorry my head isn’t properly screwed on,
As the bolts got lost when he shook me to my core.
Instead of using sorry until it loses its meaning,
I’ve been trying to say thank you.
Let me start again:
Thank you—
A crocus.
Thank you—
A dandelion.
Thank you—
A foxglove.
May thank yous spill out of me into
The soil I have seeded the most
Wondrous garden,
Just for you.
