Waylon: “I kind of wanna focus on the entrepreneur angle a little bit because I know you work your tush off. How hard do you work? How did that dream happen, and what can we all do to support you?”
Janette: “I do work really hard. So at about one o’clock in the morning, I finished my third article for Elephant Journal. I’m very, very excited! Instagram is my main platform, but I’m hoping that I really grow with Elephant. And for me, every single thing I do brings us three more customers, three more touch points. And it’s not just about the money…”
“From an entrepreneurial perspective, it is the hardest thing I’ve ever done. I’m a hard worker to begin with. This is a whole new level. Because people want convenience. You can talk to ’em about a shampoo bar…and they go right to Amazon to buy it. We’re asking people to shift away from a little bit of convenience. And everybody feels like a small store is gonna be more expensive and that’s my biggest thing to debunk. ‘Cause it can be, but it really shouldn’t be. The bottom line is, it’s a hard shift for people to make.”

Can’t Watch? Why not listen:
“We are two zero-wasters having a conversation about what we both love and care about. We’re simpatico.” ~ Janette Spiezio
“I stopped focusing so much on plastic—which by the way, I’m a 100 percent against single-use plastic; at every level it’s bad—but so many Americans rely on it for convenience. Many affluent ones believe they deserve it. People that don’t have any affluence or wealth and that are just barely scraping by, really don’t have a lot of choices because everything inexpensive is wrapped in plastic. So it is so ubiquitous.
But I find that because of the convenience factor, if I talk more about the health issues and the dangers and the toxins in our everyday products, that’s important.” ~ Janette Spiezio
