My honest response to the Trump assassination attempt by a deranged Republican shooter (to the dozens of comments suggesting mental healthcare, not reasonable gun control, on our IG post…let’s remember the GOP consistently votes against mental healthcare funding).  ~ ed. 

This is where the path of aggression leads, we needn’t follow it!

Trump was a hateful divisive selfish wannabe tyrant yesterday and he is today.

His dramatic bravery surrounded by those risking their lives for him stands in cowardly contrast to his avoidance of the draft and countless insults of war heroes, including McCain.

Threats and violence have no place in democracy and neither do Trump’s threats & repeated encouragement of violence.

No sympathy for the devil here.

Reap what ye shall sow—so stop sowing hate and start sowing dialogue, community, democratic values, honesty, decency.

I’ll gladly vote for President Biden or, if he should retire, Newsom, Whitmer, Booker.

Yes: we’d like to care for our planet, our democracy, and one another.

No to hate.
