The Nature of Now. {Poem}

 Matt MacGillivray/Flickr

You, locked up in your own four walls,

So very safe behind those Mahogany doors
Carved and fretted in lustrous ways,
The beauty undeniably in it’s grace.

But take away these luxuries—
Have a look at the actual trees.
Have a look around and see,
What else there is but “me.”

How long has it been since you last took the time
to listen to the birds chirp
or hear the wind brush through the leaves?
Feel it!
Feel it on your skin!
Mother nature is talking to you.
We are her children—
We are within.

So feel the raindrops,
And the kisses of the sun.
Walk barefooted or even run.
Run to feel alive but not to hide
For there is no point
You won’t get this chance twice.
