The band OK Go does it again with their new video, “Upside Down & Inside Out,” which was shot in zero gravity—in just one single take!
OK Go has wowed us several times before, with their epic, innovative and visually-pleasing music videos.
“Upside Down & Inside Out” is no exception—although they have done something a little different, in regards to the video’s debut.
You see, we won’t find this video on YouTube—the band has only shared it on their Facebook page.
Per Damin Kulash, the band’s singer:
However, the band did post this video on YouTube, explaining the ideology behind their new video and encouraging fans to view their new offering on Facebook:
When I first viewed the video, all I could think was: How’d they do that?! Floating around in an airplane, in zero-gravity? That looks hella-fun!
At the start of the video, the band includes a disclaimer, stating: “What you are about to see is real. We shot this in zero gravity, in an actual plane, in the sky. There are no wires or green screen.”
So what is this magic they possess?
“The video was shot in Russia with S7, the country’s largest airline. Zero gravity is achieved when the airplane dives towards earth, providing momentary weightlessness for the passengers inside. Since the outside world can’t be seen in the video, it just looks like gravity has been magically suspended.”
OK Go – Upside Down & Inside OutHello, Dear Ones. Please enjoy our new video for “Upside Down & Inside Out”. A million thanks to S7 Airlines. #GravitysJustAHabit
