It only takes a moment—
to pause,
to drop in,
to shake off the dust of yesterday’s sorrow
connecting to who you are beneath it all.
It only takes a moment—
of remembrance,
of tuning in—
to anchor into what is real
and what is true.
It only takes a subtle shift in attention
from the external noise
to those quiet whispers within
to the language of the soul.
No need to travel to a far-off land,
retreat from the constructs of society,
or bow to the feet of a guru.
All that needed
is a simple pause—
A moment of awareness
to bask in the space between the thoughts,
between the sounds,
between the breath,
Shifting from any sense of doing
into one of being,
into a soft state of total receptivity,
Feeling into the outer limits of the physical body,
the container for your entire self,
Allowing the bones to feel heavy towards the earth
as the muscles around the bones completely soften,
Releasing any conscious control of the breath,
as you let the breath
breathe you—
With each soft exhalation dropping a little bit deeper
into who you are beneath it all,
home to the ground of your being,
Dropping bellow the title of your job,
the role you have in society,
and who you feel you are to those around you,
Dropping below the current mood,
any emotions arising
and the personality in which you associate with,
Allowing everything,
any fluctuation in the thoughts,
sensations in the body
to be exactly as it is,
without judgement.
Letting yourself rest in the ground of your being,
of who you are
beneath it all.
