Sick of hearing about thoughts and prayers? Want action?
One’s thoughts and prayers may lead to action.
The qualm should not be about whether someone offers thoughts and prayers, it should be if they are willing to act. Our hope is that with all of the kind gestures surrounding tragedies like the school shooting in Florida, folks chose to do what the definition of the word gesture means, “make a movement.”
If thinking about those who died, is one thinking about how to stop this from reoccurring?
If thinking about resolution, is one actively seeking how to use their voice and share it?
If praying for peace, is one demonstrating peace through daily actions and words?
If praying for comfort, is one comforting another in their own lives?
The most powerful prayers? Use me. Show me. Guide me.
And this…
Prayer of Saint Francis
sung by Sarah McLachlan and choir.

Lord make me an instrument of your peace
Where there is hatred let me sow love
Where there is injury, pardon
Where there is doubt, faith
Where there is despair, hope
Where there is darkness, light
And where there is sadness, joy
O divine master grant that I may
not so much seek to be consoled as to console
to be understood as to understand
To be loved as to love
For it is in giving that we receive
it is in pardoning that we are pardoned
And it’s in dying that we are born to eternal life
Amen
Please keep the thoughts and prayers coming.
Make a difference, big or small.
Be a part of the change.
“Positive thoughts and prayer have been the best means available, since the beginning of time, to transform darkness to light.” ~ Cat Stevens
