Chiron in Aries Awakens the Wounded Healers: April 17-September 6.

On April 18, 2018, the dwarf planet Chiron, known as the “wounded healer” moves into the constellation Aries for the first time since 1968, and remains in that zodiac sign until April 14, 2027.

During Chiron’s time in Aries, it does have a short trip out when it retrogrades and briefly appears to be in Pisces from September 2018 until February 18, 2019. This Chiron period in Aries will have a strong influence on all signs, but will particularly affect those born between 1969 and 1977, and more so those born when the sun, moon, or Chiron was in Aries.

Those with Chiron in their birth chart are often the ones who “have been through hell and walk out of the flames carrying buckets of water for those still consumed by the fire.” ~ Stephanie Sparkles

Chiron represents tenderness, vulnerability, strength, and compassion, and its energy digs straight into our innermost aches and pains.

Carl Jung coined the term “wounded healer” to describe someone who has healed a significant wound and has gathered knowledge from past painful encounters and used what they learned to enhance the healing of others.

When we have experienced a situation firsthand and have recovered, we can then use the wisdom we’ve gained to intimately understand and support others who are going through a similar crisis.

When we are gifted with empathy, we empathise more intensely with those who are facing struggles similar to the ones we have gone through. This is one reason people who have been wounded are magnetized toward those who are still in emotional, mental, or physical pain. The degree to which we empathize is often a signal that alerts us to deep-seated trauma or wounds of our own that we haven’t yet healed, resolved, or properly understood. When we can assist others without simultaneously feeling the same depths of pain, we know we are on our way toward healing, or have already healed that particular wound.

Collectively, this rare Chiron phase in Aries is an immense healing period and a major positive energy shift for our entire planet, as we awaken to the abuse we have either suffered, or are still going through, and we take positive steps to heal ourselves and to make more meaningful connections with those around us.

When people go through turmoil, some close off, while others open up and grow from it. The people who Chiron affects most are those who open themselves to self-healing and use the knowledge they found within their trauma to show compassion, acceptance, and unconditional love toward others.

Chiron influences those who attract relationships with people who have emotional or mental challenges. These partners are our mirrors—to help us understand more about ourselves and the roles we play in our own woundedness.

One reason we are drawn to those with tormented souls is that they inadvertently force us to turn the spotlight inward, and toward self-awareness so that we face our own flaws, weaknesses, triggers, insecurities, and lack of self-worth—where our vital healing work needs to be done.

In some cases, we remain in relationships for longer than we should, and although we suffer immensely, we learn valuable lessons, which lead to healing.

When we are natural healers, we feel compelled to reduce pain as quickly as possible—-whether our own or others’—so in healing someone else, we also simultaneously heal parts of ourselves. This is something that healers may fail to see, but when we focus our attention on someone else, we feel and then try to eradicate the unpleasant emotions we absorb when we are around them.

These types of attractions are common when we have work to do on ourselves and when we are functioning on a low frequency. They stretch and push us to our limits, testing our extremes so we are compelled to search for a higher purpose and meaning to our lives.

Chiron’s presence can be a painful catalyst that catapults us to become aware of our fear, heartache, dysfunction, loneliness, trauma, desire, frustration, and resentment we have been holding on to.

We begin to realise it is time to face up to the truth of who we are and what the meaning of our lives is.

Usually, we reach this critical stage when we are burnt out, at rock bottom, or a part of our lives has collapsed and we have no other way to climb but upward.

When we find ourselves in this darkness, it can seem like we have everything to lose, although the reality is quite the opposite. Often, we reach this point after a period of spiritual growth or a phase where everything we thought was secure has been shattered. Rather than being lost and broken, we are actually on the cusp of a huge transformation; however, in order to go forward, we must let go of everything holding us back.

At this stage we are similar to a caterpillar trapped in a cocoon—and we have to beat our wings frantically to escape. We need to let go of our grip on everything superficial, that holds no meaning, or that feels toxic—everything that is weighing us down and preventing us from reaching our highest potential.

With Chiron around, we will find we need to alter aspects of our lives and remove certain people from it, and we see it is time to change parts of ourselves, which can be gruelling when we are too comfortable in the familiarity of it all.

During this Chiron healing period, we may feel as though people start to misunderstand or abandon us just when we think we need them most. We will be transforming into our new, truer selves, while they are only comfortable being around the people we once were.

As our vibration elevates and we let go of old ways, others may try to hold us back or pull us down by belittling, condemning, or criticizing who we are becoming so that we remain vibrating on the lower frequency they resonated more harmoniously with. It can be tempting to allow this to happen to avoid conflict; however, our personal growth is imperative if we want to attain inner peace, harmony, and a healthy sense of self and well-being.

As we change, our relationships with family, friends, and loved ones may be tested—they may have difficulty coming to terms with it—and we might lose a few of the people we once held close, leaving us feeling scared and alone at times. However, alone time can be a gift that teaches us strength to break through and make genuine heartfelt connections rather than remaining where we feel unappreciated or unworthy.

In journeying back to our inherent selves, we awaken and see that everything came to our lives for a reason. Every person, place, and situation that we encountered was there for a purpose and for divine spiritual growth. We start to connect to everything and everyone on an entirely new level and realize the previous identity was only helping to hold us back from achieving all that we know we are capable of.

We start to see that we’ve been holding on to dark emotions that cause us to feel petrified and stuck. Instead of rejecting our shadow emotions, we can embrace and accept them as part of our self and also as part of humanity as a whole, which opens us up to acceptance, oneness, sacred connections, and unconditional love.

“Knowing your own darkness is the best method for dealing with the darknesses of other people.” ~ Carl Jung

We are then able to channel this spiritual wisdom through personal stories and assist others with their healing journey. We find the strength to walk alongside other people through their darkness, while holding out a stabilising hand for comfort when required.

“Who then can so softly bind up the wound of another as he who has felt the same wound himself?” ~ Thomas Jefferson

Ultimately, everyone needs to face life’s challenges in their own way, but stepping back and allowing this to happen does not come easy when we have a compassionate nature. We see someone in pain and immediately want to soothe it. But we can closely enough to let them know they are not alone. When we try to repair other people’s brokenness, we quickly become burnt out and depleted; plus, we don’t do anyone any long-term favors by resolving their difficulties for them.

This is a time to step into our personal power and learn about the true state of ourselves.

And we all need to experience challenges in our own time, in our own way.

When we support someone who is distressed and struggling, we can consciously radiate a loving, high vibration toward them to light and guide their way, and transmute their painful vibrations, transforming them into ones infused with love, tenderness, understanding, acceptance, and forgiveness. Just letting someone know we are there is often all that is required.

Throughout Chiron’s presence, many will be awakened to their true soul’s purpose and highest potential as wounded but magnificent, natural healers.

Chiron is a force that directs us toward thoroughly healing ourselves, and assisting others with healing through sharing the knowledge found in our own suffering.

It is often said that some of the most compassionate, caring souls are those who have been badly abused and broken, and there is much truth there. While some people go on to self-destruct and hurt others, there are many who rise like a phoenix from the ashes.

Chiron’s energy encourages us to be tender, kind, forgiving, caring, and to express love and compassion, so that all emotional pain is heard and healed. When the work is done, rather than attracting the same low-frequency relationships of the past, the new radiant energy and love will shine and magnetise similar vibrations to those we are sending out.

Chiron is here for major soul growth.

When we have carried out this phase of healing, we stop repeating lessons and painful patterns, and we gain a profound sense of what and who we want and need in our lives. The relationships and connections we make during Chiron in Aries will likely be long-lasting, meaningful, authentic, and deeply rewarding ones as we find our kindred tribes, and finally meet the ones who we resonate heart-to-heart, and soul-to-soul with.
