Asking for Strength.

Tears have not stopped falling since the day my niece was taken away.

Ripped out of the arms of her mother, my little sister, by our own mother.

As each day passes and paperwork is filed for the upcoming hearing to bring her home, my actions began to be automatic, my soul shut down.

In the early afternoon, I would sit outside in the sunshine and wait for peace to bring steadiness to my breath, but in reality, I was pissed off and angry.

The wait absolution and answers can tear your heart in two.

The energy I was giving to being angry needed to be released in a place of positivism.

I thought of a chant I love, a beckon to Ganesh to release the strength within me to conquer obstacles. Maybe I could relay my pain into this message and ask for help.

So I have started to. The commitment is to chant “om gam ganapataye namaha” 108 times a day, every day until my niece is home.

This is the third day, where I gather my beads, mat and cushion sit and bring my whole heart into this quest.

What will this bring?

This chant is like my prayer and I have felt the effects easing my heart, steadying my breath and perhaps my niece can sense the affirmation we have.

Setting aside the moments each day to open up the possibilities of chanting is no different than kneeling in a church praying to god.

Our methods of asking do not need to be defined by convention, or answers.

Only in the belief of an outcome of love and hope.
