I wish I was that sugar cube I put in my cup today
So that when coffee was poured on me, I’d simply melt away
I wish I was that bird that sings outside my room. Free to leave, free to fly away from feeling doom
I wish I was a scientist, one that makes machines, to bring me back to a time that now I can only dream.
I wish I was me again, the girl I used to know, the one that loved being alive, who took walks in the snow.
But now I am a statue, I’m frozen in the cold, as if I just exist to accomplish what I’m told.
