Balancing Emotions and Finding Gratitude.

For some, it’s easy to show gratitude…ALL. THE. TIME. Those people are this light in the darkness, and maybe they influence you to feel that gratitude and gratefulness, and that’s great! But, if you’re like me, we need a little extra help on some days to find that good stuff to bring us joy and allow us to remember our place on this planet. So…let’s DIG deep, turn up what’s underneath, and see what’s goin’ on down under.

Time for some major landscaping….

Stick with me here for a minute:
Pretend we are plants in our own garden, sometimes being restricted by our roots due to the soil beneath, which maybe holds some stubbornness, maybe grief, attachments, negativity…But whatever it is, it’s holding us back from growing toour greatest potential. When the earth beneath us is neglected, the roots are not able to expand into the nourishing soil it needs. This is because we are instead holding a negative space down there, which is dry, and crappy soil. And it ain’t gonna work!

SO

…What we do in this moment depends on our mental, emotional, and physical capacity. We must dig deep into that dry, nasty soil, grab that out from under us, and replace it with the fresh, nutrient rich soil on top (which reflects our most present and best self).

See where I’m going with this? Or still lost?

I gotchya. Our beings, the plant, can’t grow with all that crappy soil (past experiences/ things that hold us back from expressing our truest form), so roots stop growing. When the roots stop growing, the flower pauses in its growth cycle, making it hard to move on from this stage in life. It needs that good soil, so we (in plant form) can continue to grow. The only way that’s going to work is if we bring up that negative dirt. This is where we either forget about it, or we face it and say to that bad dirt, thanks for making me realize all that negative energy was piled up beneath me. Thanks for being there so I could remove you and restart. Now, I’ll grow.

Got it? Good.

Now it is time to let go and to reclaim any power that was lost, as a preparation for planting new seeds. These new seeds are new experiences that await to join us on this journey of our growth as a being of existence. New seeds add a little extra spunk in our life, make everything a little bit more interesting, also not to mention add on to that awesome, rich soil.

Now to the “gratitude, kind of..” part.

Remember that soil we just got rid of? Be thankful for it. Be thankful for everything that has made us as individuals who we are, how we view the world, and our self- expression that draws others to us.

This last week, I have taken the time to dig up some of that dirt. I have felt so much gratitude towards all of the people in my life (even the ones that left a negative impact), the mistakes I have made, not to mention the lessons I have learned from those mistakes (thanks Mom & Dad), and those horrible experiences we have thrown at us from what it seems like out of nowhere.

Everything still continues to move on if we allow it to and accept your past. Be grateful for what we have experienced thus far and remember to refresh that soil once in a while.

xoxo
