For your iOS app to be successful, there are certain procedure to follow and there are tips involved. If you study successful app developers from an app development company, you will find out that they all follow certain procedures all the time. Here are some helpful tips for you to make your app successful.

Start with a need

Every app solves a problem or bridges a need gap. The only exceptions to the rule are game apps. So, you must first think of a need. If you can’t really figure out a need, you don’t have to develop an app. After all, it is better not to develop an iOS app than to develop the one that won’t yield much return.

Conduct a survey

Even after figuring out a need, you need to conduct a survey to be sure that people really need the app. This is because what you sometimes think is a need may not really be a need. So, it is important to back your thought up with a survey. If after the survey, you find out that your proposed app is not really needed, don’t get demoralized. Just go back to the drawing board and start all over again.

You need to begin working towards great user experience at the design stage. After getting a need, the next most important quality of an app is its user experience. If your app is the only app for a particular task, user experience may not be able to sway users as they won’t have any choice. But if there are other apps doing what your app does, users may go for the one with the best user experience. So, that is why user experience is very important.

Test your iOS and android apps

Unfortunately, a lot of app developers are in a hurry to launch their apps. So, they don’t wait to test their apps properly before they launch them. Often times, the bugs detected by users would have been detected by testers had they tested the apps properly.

Make sure all the buttons, links, and pages are working perfectly before you launch your app. If there is a redundant page that is being worked on, it is better to remove it completely until it has been fixed. Each bug or issue users find out about your app will make them lose confidence on your app and your brand entirely.

Massive promotion

You should begin to create awareness about your app even before you launch it. In fact, you should continue to promote your app until you decide to retire it. Even successful apps are still being promoted regularly.

Search engine optimization is a good way to promote your app. You need to use the most searched keywords relevant to your niche. It is also necessary to advertise your app on app stores. The biggest app store for iOS apps is Apple app store but there are other smaller but good app stores. You should upload your app on virtually all the app stores available to you. Ignoring some app stores is like cutting off some potential users.

Your advert videos have to be very catchy. These videos should be catchy enough to make prospective users probe further and get taken in even more. If you can hire an SEO expert for this, you should go ahead.

You can also promote your app on your website. You should create a whole webpage for your app. This is for people who visit your website regularly but are not aware of your app. While promoting your app, don’t focus on the features of the app, it is better to focus more on the solution that the app provides.

Create a blog around your app. You will share informative posts within the niche of your app. The more you share informative messages, the more you are seen as an authority in the area. You will them send a few messages that will promote your app.

Regular updates

No matter how great your app is, there will always be room for improvement. Even the developers of the best apps did not get it right at launch. It takes regular updates of bug fixes and introduction of other features to get to the top of your niche.

However, you don’t just engage on updates. You must carry out the users of your app along by seeking their feedback regularly. It is their feedback that will determine the required updates. Another reason to take regular updates seriously is that it puts you at the top of the niche. If you update your app regularly, it will be difficult for any app to take over the niche and drive you out of business.

The next few tips are geared towards giving the users of your app great experience.

Fast loading is essential

Human beings are impatient in nature and app users are not an exception. So, your app has to load very fast and also respond fast to commands. This is why you should consider the redundancy of your server. It is important to do a great work building a fast loading app only to be screwed by poor server service provider.

If your app is responding to a command, it should indicate it to avoid the user issuing the same command multiple times. For instance, if he pressed a button to issue the command, the button should remain pressed or a simple “please wait” should come up. This will notify the user that his command is being worked on.

Less is more

Remember that app users have a major memory constraint. They usually do not have enough memory to download all the apps they want. So, they often download the most important ones. You need to make your app as small as possible so that you don’t turn them off.

When an app is too big, users may be prompted to delete some existing apps to create space for your app and at this point, a good number of them will drop off. Even after downloading and installing it, each time they need space to download another app, your app will always be among the ones that their devices will put up for deletion.

This is actually interesting. I was part of the creation and launch of a dating app that did not allow face pictures, but posted something the user CREATED instead. We underestimated bounce rate because, of course, nobody was on the app because it was new. So, we died for lack of enough marketing dollars. Any thoughts you might have appreciated. My thought now is to approach brands, clubs, existing list-owners, to take it for free, use it, because the “building the list” part would have zero cost.
