Is meditation a religious activity?
Some believe that meditation has its roots in Religion, and then there are others who wish to de-institutionalize meditation so that it can be liberally practiced without any Religious connotation associated with it. A good example of this is the Mindfulness Movement.

I don’t really think its connected to religion. It is just a way to ease your thoughts. It is just that religions attached this thing to themselves. Just as we cannot say that good deeds are connected to religion just because they have been saying to do them for many years. They are independent from them and are completely human nature.
