TREASURE COAST
I followed the eastern star
To meet the calm
Silver-wrapped
Amethyst dawn.
A porpoise rose
On the horizon
Pausing before descending
With the waning moon
A mermaid rested
Counting pearls as
The sea gently waved
Exhaling through
The rock crevices
Soaring paired peregrines
Announced heavenly bounty before
Daylight broke the spell
At last
I returned to myself
Purified
Absolved.
