Are you living your truth?

Living your truth

Last week was a very interesting one for me from one point of view.On three separate occasions, with three separate people, I had a three very similar conversations which have all lead me to today’s message:

The first conversation was with a local restaurateur. I was chatting to him about possibly using his space once a month for a monthly sacred women’s circle, which is something I am looking to start and I have been battling to find the right venue. This venture would have to be a win: win for both of us and so we were brainstorming and throwing out questions to each other; it was really great and constructive.

And then he referred to us living in the “Bible belt”. Now, this took me a few seconds to register what exactly he was saying and I thought it almost bizarre that he bought it up. But then he explained, that he has had to be very mindful about what he posts on social media. He was also telling me about a local woman who shared space with them to sell her organic, locally produced vegetables and because she had a bowl of crystals at her till, received quite a few negative and derogatory comments with regards to religion.

The second conversation I had was with a friend who is a pilates teacher. She was telling me that one of the ladies who comes to her for private sessions, bought a Christian magazine with her to show her. In this magazine, was an article about whether Christians should practice yoga and pilates. According to the article, and the client, it was okay for her to go to pilates because my friend wasn’t one of those “woo woo” teachers!

My third conversation was with another friend, who sells organic herbal teas (which are delish, by the way!). Some years back, she was a regular at one of the local farmers markets, selling her beautiful, organic, herbal teas. She was telling me she was absolutely astounded when one woman, outright called her a Satanist!

As a yoga teacher, I have had other yoga teachers tell me similar stories but I have to admit, I have never experienced this myself.

This got me to thinking…. perhaps I have never encountered this because (1) its not a big thing for me but also (2) I respect that everyone has their own truth.

What do I mean by this? Well, its quite simple really, what is true for you may not be true for me, and vice versa.

I totally get why some people go to church… and to be honest, I admire them for being so dedicated and committed.

And, its not that I don’t believe there is a God or in the Infinite, the Universal wisdom…. insert appropriate word here! Because I absolutely do!

I respect your truth and what works for you. I recognize that my truth is not your truth and I trust that that respect is reciprocated.

It’s actually as simple as that!

I honestly believe that if you are living your truth, your life will be easier and you will have less stress and anxiety. You will not be trying to live up to other peoples expectations or be trying to “keep up with the Jones'”. You will lead a simpler, happier life with ease, joy and glory. Your life will be abundant and manifesting will be your superpower.

So, are you living your truth?

So much love to wherever you are on the planet
