The Brazilian government is now making condoms from rubber trees that grow in the Amazon. The state-run rubber condom farm, which will be known as “Natex,” will help to generate a source of income for locals that doesn’t involved moving down the rainforest to raise cattle or crops. The rainforest-made condoms will also wean the country off its dependence on imported condoms and promote save sex in a country with a high rate of AIDS.
