A Quickie Survival Guide for this Full Moon & Lunar Eclipse. {July 16-17}

*The partial lunar eclipse, the last lunar eclipse of 2019, will be visible from Australia, Africa, South America, most of Europe, and Asia, and the very eastern and southern parts of North America on July 16-17, 2019.

We are on a constant journey of falling apart and coming together.

Maybe you’ve noticed?

At some point in our lives, we were indoctrinated into the idea that we would have it all together—life, love, work. At least, that was the goal—to have it all together. When we did finally succeed at having everything together, we were further ingrained into the belief that we would “stay” together—nothing would fall apart.

But, that is not the way of nature, and we are nature, in every aspect of our being.

Therefore, it is no surprise that this full moon in Capricorn and partial lunar eclipse have so many of us falling apart, even while we come into our fullness with Luna, the moon.

It seems like a contradiction, but in its essence, it is the storm which prepares us for the calm, and there is steady growth ahead.

This Capricornian energy is so potent and demands our attention. So, that glass-half-empty feeling, churned up by Capricorn’s ruling planet Saturn, is the perfect portal for personal growth.

Within this seemingly eclipsed light, we face our fears, doubts, anger, vulnerability, wounding, and deep melancholy. To all of this, we must surrender.

Let it fall apart, Wild One. Let yourself feel. Let this strong magnetic pull be transformational.

This exhaustion, this body pain, this uncomfortable, inexplicable feeling within your heart is the falling apart.

Welcome it.

Don’t distract yourself—concentrating on this moon and eclipse instead of falling apart can be a way of avoiding what is begging to be released. We can read every article about this coming moon and still not do the work.

Let us use the channel of energy available to us now, and in facing our shadows, we can bring in that illuminatory magic.

Our responsibility now is to stay grounded in love and gratitude. As with our heart, so in the world.

It may seem difficult during the falling apart process to be grateful, or even take the time to ground and center. But if not I, then who?

A quick, grounding meditation for the full moon and partial lunar eclipse:

Sit now, with your eyes closed and your heart open.

Imagine yourself surrounded by the elements—ocean waves, soft wind on your face, the earth beneath you, a warm fire burning before you. Embrace these elements because they are you.

Express gratitude for the food that comes from the earth, the water that comes from the rain, the heat that comes from the fire, the change that comes in the wind.

Grow roots deep into the earth. Down, down, down. You are connected to the Great Mother.

From this place of gratitude, fill your cup with the energy you get from the roots you have grown.

Feel it in your root chakra, where you embody yourself. Feel the security and love of your Earth Mother. Know that you are here on purpose.

Sit with this feeling of being completely held and adored.

Work with Luna, the moon, as she creates space for your fullness—allow, allow, allow.

Release only that which no longer has lessons for you.

Keep what still needs exploring, and peacefully, you open to the light.

Wild One, you are on your way.
