“You were created for a purpose, not for a performance” unknown
As I was driving home listening to a beautiful and powerful book, I heard the author say these words “Job said to the snow, ‘Fall on the earth,’
and to the gentle rain, ‘Pour out a mighty downpour.’” She went on to describe the power in that message. He did not tell the snow to do anything other than what it was created to do. Fall. The rain, pour.
Ask yourself, What if you only worried about being what you were created to be? Nothing more, nothing less, just be. The perfectly imperfect, flawed, human, loving, purpose driven soul that you were created for? The You before the world told you who to be or what to feel. The little growing, learning, joyful soul that soaked up experiences and knowledge like a sponge; reaching for limitless heights and fearless aspirations. Who would you have become?
The truth is that each of us is created with purpose. The seeds of the fruitful dreams planted within us waiting to grow. Curious eyes fixed upon horizons begging to lead us to our pathways of destiny. However, for many, our way is lost. Pathways changed by limiting beliefs and generational curses of family, friends. All meaning well, but stifling potential. Trauma, loss, pain, negative self esteem all weighing us down along the way, or stopping us completely. We look upon others, “the lucky” or “the gifted” that follow their purpose from birth. Growing into the exceptional version they were created for. Telling ourselves that we just aren’t them.
We ARE them. We too can stand amongst the “elite”. They did nothing more than refuse to give up or give in to the negative forces trying to stifle them! They have failed more times than we have tried. They, the artists, musicians, dreamers, poets, leaders, builders, creators, and lovers. They, the motivators and inspirational leaders that guide us into living with purpose, and out of existing without fulfillment. We too can be those we admire. We too can live for the voice inside, calling us to sprout into fruition. So, as Job said to the snow “Fall” to blanket the earth, and to the rain, “Pour” into a mighty downpour. I say unto you, BE! Be who you were created to be, to touch the lives around you, to burn trails for others to follow upon. Be the light that shines through the darkness. The call from within the silence. You were made to do great things. Let your soul’s power overcome the obstacles and roadblocks. BE!
