Mother Nature actually speaks through me. Not to me. And it is particularly imperative, now, that I listen to the messages ever present within my wise body. My mind often tricks me but my body always tells the truth. Always
It’s quite incredible to step back and consider the collective wisdom that has emerged over some 500 million years of our evolution, starting from such rudimentary life forms of single cell protozoa, to, now, integrated systems of complex DNA encoding, that lay within, each, our collective cells. Wisdom within ,there for the taking…and all I have to do is listen.
No, my encoded wisdom does not speak to me through conventional vehicles like lips and a voice box. The wisdom speaks to me when I sit quietly, attentive, undistracted, tending to the subtle, sometimes not so subtle, nuanced impulses..the quiet tending to any sensation that arises, void of any analysis, judgement , or interpretation. When I adopt the impartial observer status tracking my moment by moment sensory experience, I begin to tap in to an evolutionary resource far richer than my fleeting at best ,and deceptive at worst, unreliable mind. In this particular time of a pandemic crisis, it behoves me to take my job of guided listening seriously.
The message to me this morning and for the past several mornings, “Go To Your Room! And Do Not Come Out Until You Are Willing To Behave”.
It may be a message that applies beyond my own litany of misdeeds toward myself, others, any and all forms on the planet. But can’t speak for others. I only know my job this morning is to sit in my room, in my own pain body, and to trust the messages that come from my wise body to guide me through my day.
Only then may I come out of my room
