Alicia Keys’ “Tiny Desk Concert” is Pure Magic—it’s Musical Healing.

Here’s more musical inspiration for you: This Cover of “Dreams” (Fleetwood Mac) is Absolutely Lovely—it gave me Chills. And Beyoncé’s Surprise New Song “Black Parade” is the Revolution Anthem we need Right Now.

The video was prerecorded on February 12, 2020, for NPR, but only released last week.

I have always been a fan of her gorgeous, soulful voice, but also what she stands for. She opens with a single from 2019: “Show Me Love,” and it is everything we need to hear during this time.

We need more love—more compassion. For me, she has always stood for that.

NPR said it best:

“No one could have predicted then how much her lyrics and musical healing would be crucial during this emotionally fraught time of unprecedented political and racial unrest, heightened by three months of quarantine due to a global pandemic.”

She laughs about the cramped space and novelty of a miniature-sized “concert,” but her performance truly transcends it all:
