“She burned too bright for this world.” ~ Emily Bronte
Yes, I am a wild one.
No, I don’t dye my hair,
and I don’t have a pierced face or a tattooed body.
I don’t follow trends, and I am not an influencer.
I don’t drink and party hard every night.
I don’t sleep around or ride a motorbike.
I don’t hang out with a wild crowd, neither am I too loud.
I am a wild one because I stand for what is right.
I break the chains of an abused dog.
I fall in love, I write, and I blog.
Despite the previous heartbreaks and disappointment,
when it’s time to face an injustice, I show up without an appointment.
I am a wild one when I defy social norms that contradict my values,
and when I keep fighting for our planet even when I might lose.
When I tell the truth no matter how hard it may sound.
When I love him with all my heart even when he’s not around.
When I remain kind and hopeful in a world that’s so cruel.
When I defend the less privileged and break every rule.
When I’d rather be gifted a book instead of gold and rubies.
When watching the moon at night is as good as going to the movies.
When I go to a protest refusing to let anything bring me down.
And when a misogynist calls me a b*tch, I wear it like a crown.
Yes, I am a wild one.
