The morning sun basks The White House in full glory, and the smiles and bright eyes of the volunteers shine and sparkle in the warm light. Spring has exploded throughout Washington DC in a myriad of colors and blossoms. There is a palpable sense of energy and freshness in the city during this time of cultural and political renaissance.

We have been officially invited to be a part of the 131st annual Easter Egg Roll; to teach yoga to many of the expected 30,000 children and families who will be in attendance. Many of the tickets have been given away to inner city schools, gay and interacial famailies, and military workers to support the theme of acceptance and community.

The yoga comes naturally to the children as we play with poses on our mats. We progress through series of animal asanas in chorus of Mooos, Meows and Howls. We conquer our fear in Peaceful Warrior and fly high to let our light shine bright in Airplane.

The parents and children show much trust in us, sometimes holding hands or climbing in our laps. We teach that yoga is about friendship and seeing the good in others. Each one of us is perfect just the way we are. What better place…for the rest, click here.
