Sighing Heart

I couldn’t fathom the depth of pain I endured on the day when you walked away,
With bleeding heart, my soul laid in the throes of anguish day after day,
A pang of secret sorrow engulfed me in my solitude,
From afar I saw my world clad with hues fading and subdued.
Evening breezes sighed of your laughter as the moon spoke your name,
Ocean’s wave may sound comforting and enchanting but it couldn’t tame the burning flame,
Birds do hop and chirp melodiously but their grace doesn’t stop this excruciating pain,
And so I would just cry and sob so hard dramatically under the rain.
The way you said goodbye shattered my fragile heart into a million pieces,
This aggravating and tormenting pain can only be cured by your warm embrace and kisses,
My heavens cried the moment my eyes shed tears,
My heart that was once cocooned with joy is now embosomed with fears.
A part of me has just been robbed and died,
When the thought settled that I could not walk with you by my side,
To my eyes all the clouds gathered and billowed,
Like a veil that obscured this oppressive load.
This heart holds nothing but a bewitching tale,
Every teardrop these eyes shed filled this empty vale,
Emotions were too strong and torturing shaking me at dawn,
Restless, broken, and hurt with a heart ready to yawn.
My memory of you was but a shadow of gold,
Your smiles were the sweetest sight for an angel to behold,
Your eyes were a mirror of hope as if those cast a flicker of light,
Like a myriad of stars that keep sparkling in the indigo sky at night.
Fate has just led you into the land where the sun rises,
Where it realizes your dreams and offers you life’s surprises,
You’ve taken the road with a heart determined,
Until you finally reached a home where you were destined.
At first my heart may have bled as I didn’t want you to go,
But when I saw you finally happy beaming with smiles aglow,
My heart that once sighed a melancholic lullaby,
Has been becalmed by a soft and sweet song as times gone by.
