“I see you, I see me”

I see through your broken pieces the light that shines through

The very light you try to dim within you

The brightness you overcast with shadows

Past and recent

Yours and theirs

Shadows that darken when the sun shines brighter

Yet in their absence you wouldn’t be you

Broken is no more than a label

I see you I see me

We are all torn within

The pieces of you

The pieces of me

It is our story

It is but human to fall and break

I see your light trying to rebuild

I see your sight on your shadows instead

Even in brightness a shadow must persist

Does not deny their ability to coexist

How do you choose, to see yourself

What do you seek, to define you

Your existence, then now and later

Kindness

Forgiveness

Love

Or

Judgement

Fear and

Shadows

Let go my dear

You deserve not to live in fear

Life is too precious

There is beauty in all your pain

Wisdom in plain

You can grow stronger, free of disdain

Let the light through

Set your sight on kindness

to yourself and your soul

Set your sight on forgiveness

of yourself and all

Set your sight on love

for yourself and the whole

I see you I see me

We are not broken

We are growing

To be human is to blossom, through our cracks

To harness and befriend, our shadow, in the light

The very ones we try to resist

Without which we wouldn’t exist

I see you I see me

I see your healing

We are human

We are beautiful

We are we

And in me

I see you
