5 Tips to Flow through Life’s Ebbs (vs. Ebbing with the Ebbs).

I live my life intuitively.

I’m not sure of a lot, but I am certain of three things: death, taxes, and The Law of Rhythm.

We all experience all three and will not be able to escape them, no matter how we may try.

Being entirely devoted to supporting empathic people and heart-centered entrepreneurs into full embodiment, I work day in and day out with some seriously courageous and extraordinary people.

I have clients of all ages, backgrounds, and parts of the world, including every income level, various beliefs, and careers from your average joe to what some may consider a glitzy and glamourous life in Hollywood.

However, it doesn’t matter if they have more money than they know what to do with, live a luxurious life others envy, or if they are someone living full of passion and purpose, I see the same weakness time and again—the distrust of The Law of Rhythm.

Simply put, energy is always in motion. The Law of Rhythm states that this energy is like a pendulum swing.

Whenever something swings to the right, it must then swing to the left. Everything moves and vibrates to a rhythmic pattern.

As Maya Angelou said, “Everything in the universe has a rhythm, everything dances.”

This law ensures the miraculous unspoken rule that says what goes up must come down. It guarantees us when the tide goes out; it will surely come back. It tells us that there is a negative for every positive, which means for every happy smile, there may be a sorrowful tear to follow. It promises us for every high we experience, there will be a low. But that also means that for every low, there will be a high to follow.

Yet over and over, I see that we forget that.

It is incredible to witness people create beautiful shifts through our work together; it might be a lifestyle shift, momentum in a new career venture, a money win, or manifesting a mini-miracle for themselves. The delight and confidence build, celebrations occur, and the joy is shared.

But then, sure enough…the ebb happens.

The world comes crashing down, and people get discouraged. Out of nowhere (but not really), the, “I can’t do this,” “I am just in tears today,” and the, “Why is this happening to me when it was so good?” comments and messages land in my inbox.

It. Never. Fails.

I have learned to expect it now. I actually prep my clients for it, hoping that they won’t ebb with the ebb but flow with the ebb.

I want to be clear that I am not inferring we live a life waiting for the other shoe to drop. From my perspective, that is a different energy and intent. One that comes with anxiously waiting, creating stories in our minds about the bad that might happen or the pain we may encounter.

I am simply suggesting that we remain aware that our situation is ever-changing, and acknowledge that there will be ebbs and flows between happiness and sadness.

We can celebrate both equally because both offer gifts of learning and expansion.

I have found that life is more enjoyable, curious, and manageable when we can learn to flow with the ebbs, versus ebb with the ebbs.

Five ways I’ve learned to flow with the ebbs, through my own life and practice:

1. Observe and be aware.

When we know the ebbs are coming, it shifts from being a shock to an observation. Then, when it arrives, we can be like, Oh, here it is! I can do this. This isn’t about living with a “the world is crumbling” mentality. I am suggesting awareness and observation, not anxiously awaiting and making up mindless stories.

2. Celebrate the lesson in the ebb.

I believe we all choose to come to “Earth school” for a reason. When an ebb happens, it helps me to reflect and ask myself, If my soul could choose this moment and challenge, why would it have chosen this? What lesson is there now? The ebb always teaches us a lesson, even if it is one we don’t want. Often acknowledging it and surrendering can help us move through it quicker.

3. Keep a flow-minded environment.

Find people who will be supportive and live in a flow mindset. As it goes, misery loves company. If we surround ourselves with negative people, it is much easier to focus on the ebb and stay stuck in the sadness. Surrounding myself with positive people who take the time to educate themselves on things like The Law of Rhythm, keeps me flowing even through the ebbs.

4. Always look to the flow.

When the ebb is here, remember that means the flow comes next. Start dreaming and visioning of all of the goodness that may be just around the corner. Do a mental recall of the last ebb experienced, and let that be mental-proof and a reminder that the flow is coming next.

5. Take energy off of the ebb.

To the point above, once we remember the ebb means a flow is coming, we can take energy off of it, by taking the focus off. It helps to feel gratitude for other flow moments. Think about wins and celebrations in the past, and let gratitude fill every cell in the body. I even talk to it; I thank it for showing up and for the message and let it know that I release it.

I want to clarify that it is not my intent to place myself as an expert on this. These tips have helped me and my clients move from ebbing with the ebbs to flowing with them instead. Take from this what may benefit and leave the rest.

May we all continue to flow with the ebbs. ~ Gina Nicole
