I’m Wildly Intoxicated by this Love I Have for You. {Poem}

My Beating Heart

I am bereft with abandon
Your wild blue eyes
Light up the temple of my soul
With footsteps to my sacred centre

How I long to saviour your presence
To hear the soft whisper of your breath
The gentle murmur of your heart
The lull of your rest

Oh, how do stars appear in your eyes
How has the infinite found your being
And why does all of space find resting place
In the quiet of your core

I’ve ventured far and wide
I’ve come from mountains and oceans
Yet still I’m mesmerised by such beauty
As though all of creation sings your name

Oh dear be still my beating heart
Rest my breath and let be
For I’m wildly intoxicated
By this love I have for you

Now the tapestry
Of your soul has unravelled
All resistance to presence
And has tickled my entirety

Oh what exquisite comedy
What smile on God’s lips must exist
To coax my heart alive
To drive me wild like bliss

I confess, I dream to set sail
Across the landscape of your supple skin
To gently caress your hair
And remind you of your Source

Oh dear be still my beating heart
Rest my breath and let be
For I’m wildly intoxicated
By this love I have for you

If forever is now
And now is forever
If eternity’s breath
Has been rewritten with your name

Then by God I shall sing
Your name sweetheart
Across the glorious rooftop
Of this exquisite world

Oh dear be still my beating heart
Rest my breath and let be
For I’m wildly intoxicated
By this love I have for you

It’s as though your voice
Waxing lyrical
Has found its way to my core
Like a songbird finds a mate

Forgive me, my mind
Let be this crazy euphoria
Gently carry me on these wings
Into the oblivion of sweet nothings
