What do you do when life gives you lemons, and, what style of dance music is your life playing?
We have all heard the saying
“When life gives you lemons, make lemonade.”
Personally, I prefer to take the seeds and plant them.
Lemonade, while it can be quite yummy, and you can personalise the recipe to your own tastes and volume etc, is still a transient experience and, limited in volume.
But, when we plant the seeds from these lemons, (and make lemonade) we are using the challenging experiences to have a more continual supply of fruit for many more yummy treats – you get to pick when the fruit is ripe, and you are in control of the when what and why of the lemons.
Yes, it takes time for the tree to mature to produce the fruit, but how rewarding it is when we see something we have planted, grow, when we harvest the fruits from our labours?
If we are really snazzy, we might even take time to graft other fruit trees onto the trunk and create an even more abundance of fruits from the original set of seeds.
How about the music your life is playing for you at the moment?
Is it heavy, sad and mournful, or light like Chopsticks?
Is it heavy metal and headbanging stuff, or is it a waltz that you are gliding through with grace and eloquence?
Is the music new or a different genre to what you would normally listen to, yet to acquire an appreciation for what is playing?
Again, there is no right or wrong, only circumstances for us to interact with and potentially learn and grow through. This is our choice, our free will to do as we choose.
Our interpretation, our internalisation and our responses are all ours.
We may listen to others – have some lessons, tutorials or even demonstrations of how to grow the seeds, or learn the new dance moves to this strange sound called ‘music'(??).
At the end of the day, we are the ones who need to move our hands to plant, our feet to dance. Our time and patience nurture the new life and perfect the response to the rhythm.
Yes, we could even sit and enjoy the lemonade, and compost the seeds, we could turn the music dial back to the genre we are familiar with. I will challenge you though,…. where is the fun in this when we could be learning, growing and appreciating a broader complexity of what we call life.
If you are ready to take some serious lessons in transformation; or better still ready to turn your wounds into the best compost ever so you can grow your own most beautiful fruits from your challenges, then now is the time!!
Heal, Let Go, Transform your old hurts into powerful strengths.
