We can all feel it. The terrifying prospect of the not too distant future.

The world is not equitable, nor is it sustainable. Regardless of which GOD you believe in or if science is the only thing you bow to, all signs point to a MAJOR shift and soon.

Maybe it will be climate change. Maybe it will be natural population contraction relative to the damage that has been done by overpopulation. Maybe the whole handmaids tale fertility crisis will come to pass. Who knows. We Just know that a tipping point is near. Covid feels only like a PRECURSOR.

When it happens, when karma comes to call, it wont be boomers, X’ers, or millennials that will be cleaning up the mess. It will be the young people of today who will invent, engineer, and develop solutions to the problems we have created, as well as problems we didn’t know we had.

While WE continue to operate in indulgent, entitled,  self destructive ways; THEY are already recognizing how narrow our view of reality is. They see how technology is only in its infancy. How todays computers are the equivalent to discovering fire, and whatever their counterpart to the combustion engine is, its big, and it will redefine the world. They are learning that the information we have today, is only a fraction of a fraction of a fraction. And a fraction at that.

The young adults of this time are at the beginning of a major evolutionary shift. The same kind magnitude of shift that saw neanderthals out and Homo sapiens in. Young humans have been exposed to amounts of information at young ages, that were previously unfathomable. Our brains have never gotten this much exercise! We talk sometimes of technologies more negative effects on youth but we don’t recognize or behold that it will make them FAR MORE COMPLEX human beings. These inquisitive, active minds, just chewing through every measure and type of information possible.

ITS PROFOUND.

To boot, they have had access to foods from all over the world. The first or second in their genetic line to regularly have nutrients that never touched their bloodline. If you think of what eating meat and later agriculture did for the evolution of our brain. This is a DNA gone wild situation. Our species is about to go into full lotus bloom. The industrial revolution will hardly look like a revolution in the future. It will look like the base level of scaffolding for the new world. As rudimentary as a hammer or ax.

The genetic effects of broad exposure to advancing technology as well as a expansion of individual nutritional profiles is going to have humanity doubling down on a huge biological update. In fact its already in progress.

AND RIGHT ON TIME.

As the rotten fruit from our amassed negligence/ignorance begins to fall and spoil our precious world, humanity NEEDS their highly empathetic, non-binary, approaches. They will NEED to think differently than us. Our aggressive, apelike, tradition focused, approach has been bullsh*t. The fact that so many middle aged and older people hold so hard to it while insulting the youth, reinforces my thinking that our generations ability to get a clue is hopeless.

ALAS, I have such faith. Even in the face of cataclysm, I believe in the new minds of today. I believe, that the foundation they were born upon is one they will make the best use of, while disregarding old world notions that are no longer in positive service to anyone. My only regret, is that I won’t live to see the awesome vastness of the future to come.
