My Travel is not a Vacation.
Many of us have to, and want to, Travel & Work.
But when good friends tell me to
“I’m in amazing place LET ME PLUG MY BOOK THAT I’VE FUCKING TOLD YOU ALL ABOUT A MILLION TIMES BECAUSE I FINALLY GET TO STARE AT A SCREEN!!!”
Shut your fucking pie-hole and enjoy the world.”
and
Stop Working!
and more
Stop Working.
and…
agreed. Vacations [are] not for finishing books.
And…
I say…
First of all, Thank you! The struggle is real!
But who said I’m taking a vacation?
You did.
Getting offline completely goes against my livelihood, but is so hard in a good way for me after all these years of work.
And I do think you can travel and work, both, in fact I think that’s truly sustainable.
I’ve had plenty of detox from work-work but am also trying to finish a very real life project that in many ways will provide security for myself, my house, my future family and hopefully be of some real benefit from the Dharma gift I was given is important.
…and has been really hard to complete (98% done a month ago, 99% done a month later with all the travel finally seeing mom and intro’ing her and Michelle to one another, now off to wedding and first real travel with Michelle my love in this long pandemic.
So I know you love to tease [dear friends] but plugging my work in a cynical push-sense is not what I do, I share what I care about and you too hopefully care about Dharma and climate crisis and your right livelihood and activism/social/political justice, and I have to work to pay for this expensive and difficult during Covid travel.
