Life can be Simple.

Life can be simple.

It can be peaceful, harmonious, and carefree.

Life can be what we want it to be. It may take some work, but I can almost guarantee that we are in charge of simplifying our lives.

We complain about how busy we are. Who sets the schedule?

We complain about family or friend drama. Who feeds into it?

We complain about others. What they don’t do or how they do the things they do. Who cares?

If we are honest with ourselves, we will see that we complicate our lives. We are the problem.

The exhaustion, upset, and frustration most likely comes down to us.

Even if we can’t control what’s happening around us, we can control how we react and what we participate in.

When we choose the path of simplicity, it may at first seem dull.

There are no highs or lows. There are rarely adrenaline rushes or emotional crash and burns.

Things just move along. Smoothly. Swiftly. And simply.

In time, we realize that it is not dull—it is liberating.

No becomes a complete sentence.

Not feeling the need to explain ourselves becomes comfortable.

No longer fretting about what others think about us is tranquil.

I see people make their own problems, and if I were to offer this rationale, it would be rejected. I would be dismissed.

How could I not see how stressed and troubled they are? How insensitive of me.

Usually, not.

It takes time to smooth out one’s life. It takes years of drama, upset, and mistakes. It takes highs and lows, crashes and burns. It takes experience, learning, and growth. It takes maturity and wisdom. It takes an unyielding desire to live authentically.

But it you want it—you can have it. Pure and simple.

The decision is yours.
