Even though you may not be an athlete, do you have “March Madness”?

March Madness is the NCAA Men’s Division I Basketball Championship, a single-elimination college basketball tournament held each spring in the United States. For those who may not be as familiar with March Madness, many people root for their favorite teams and bet on who wins by filling out a bracket in spirit of the event.

Are you watching and rooting for teams, certain players, making the right moves, winning?

Even if you are not a fan of basketball, everyone can relate to March Madness.

Are you doing the best you can do in your business, your personal life, your daily interactions with people? Are you rooting for yourself to always be the best you can be or are you driving yourself crazy if you f*ck up?

Are we capable of collaborating and working together as a team? Are we in a meaningful relationship where there is communication and give and take? Or are we only into the “moves” to manipulate to get what we want at any price? Do we have ethical business practices or do we try to take advantage of people as much as possible? Where do we draw the line? Do we have humor and not take ourselves so seriously?

Are we as excited and passionate when we are watching a basketball game? What is it that turns us on to have that same kind of passion throughout our entire life?

I played basketball when I was young and it was the only sport that I truly loved and that I could actually play well. It gave me confidence and a sense of focus and a wonderful sense of teamwork. There was this wonderful sense of passion of doing something I loved.

Have fun during this March Madness, find your passion, and please don’t take yourself so seriously, it can truly get in the way of having fun in whatever you do. And yes, go out and play a good game of basketball.
