“Bunky and the Walms: The Christmas Story”

“[O]nly twenty minutes left! Oh, he hated being placed in any situation
with only twenty minutes left! If someone told him a day ago, while he was
groaning over the cookbook, that the future of Christmas would entirely
depend on his abilities, he would groan and mutter even more and probably
abandon the whole project. But today he was the true Christmas Hero!” – an excerpt from “Bunky and the Walms: The Christmas Story” (Aleksandra Tryniecka, 2021).

“Bunky and the Walms: The Christmas Story” is a novel written with love for the Readers living in the modern, trying times – written with the hope that the young Readers will safely dive into a peaceful and magical Christmas world and learn that the true heroism does not embrace supernatural abilities but, instead, consists of the inner struggles one faces in daily life. Hence, it is a novel about the celebration of everyday life – the “Bunky life” in which one is capable of creating a beautiful reality! It is an uplifting tale about the power of friendship, courage, loyalty, and nobility! What will happen if one slightly grumpy and complaining Bunky suddenly has to become a brave Christmas Hero, repair Santa Claus’ sleigh, and deliver gifts all over the world? And what will happen if the literary world about which Bunky is dreaming while writing his novel enters his reality? Decidedly, this year’s Christmas will be Bunky’s greatest adventure, yet on this adventure he will not be alone: there will be his best friends, cousin Rodney and a little Wolf Plum, as well as the entire family of Walms, the Elves, the Reindeer, and even Santa Claus himself! From the magical Walmland, through the charming Faroe Islands, and to the very heart of the fantasy world of Bunkyland, Bunky’s quest to save Christmas will take him on a memorable journey through different places, but also a journey into his own heart!

Bunky is the protagonist of the novel. He lives in Walmland – a beautiful land located one thousand miles away from the North Pole, west of the Faroe Islands and east of the Baffin Bay. Bunky is going to spend Christmas – his favourite time of the year – in the company of his cousin Rodney and aunt and uncle Walm. Yet, this Christmas will be very different and special: not only will Bunky embark on an unexpected quest to save Christmas, but also he will undergo an inner change: from a slightly grumpy and complaining individual into a courageous Christmas Hero! On top of that, Bunky is a prolific young writer who dreams about meeting the mysterious and beautiful character about whom he is writing his novel: the Bunky Princess. Will his dream come true?…
