Love comes from knowing who you are,  from knowing what you want, from accepting yourself as you are. Sometimes we believe we need to do something different than what we naturally do. Because we have this perfect image of how we should be, it is the ideal image that somebody else puts in our space when vulnerable.

Remember when you were a child, and you believed you could fly like superman, travel the world from one adventure to the next, save the world? Back then, nothing was impossible. Your connection to the other side was still fresh, so your innocence showed you your power. You were unstoppable. I often visit my inner child, ask her questions, and let go of my fears. She always knows what she wants. She likes excitement, adventure, and joy; constant joy. She likes to be outside always. Her knees and fingernails are permanently dirty from building mud castles and running with wild animals. A cat, in her mind, is a panther. A dog is a  tame lion, a bird, an eagle. Together they go on adventures. Together they find infinite joy. They explore forests and climb mountains. They swim in deep oceans with whales and otters. Nothing is impossible because everything in her mind is real. Everything she wants is possible. She touches my heart in ways unimaginable. She recharges me and tells me: “of course, you can, and you will because I am you and you are me. We are unstoppable.”

And then I come back to reality, and I have her walking by my side. Her courage is in my heart, her desire for adventure guides me, her joy is mine.

Do you remember when you were a child and were unstoppable?

When was the last time you felt that way? When was the last time you visited your inner child?

So close your eyes, go through the door of your heart, step into the inner child realm. Find her, hug that child, and say “thank you for making me who I am a who I will be.” Ask her to always be by your side, hold your hand and give you courage. Together you are ready for the adventure. Together you are unstoppable; together, you are infinite loved because you are infinitely happy.
