Folks love to say “it’s bad weather” when it’s cold, or “it’s nice out” when it’s 60 in December in Colorado.

Let’s stop calling a snow day “bad weather.” Let’s stop calling an unseasonably warm day in the middle of Winter “a nice day.”

“What good is the warmth of summer without the chill of winter?” ~ John Steinbeck

Rain or Gray Skies deserves better than “it’s awful out.”

In an age of climate crisis, drought, fires (in December?!) that just burned down 1000 plus homes here, be grateful for cold and water.

Every season helps me appreciate every other season, and the passing of time, and this life!

Folks love to say “it’s bad weather” when it’s cold, or “it’s nice out” when it’s 60 in December in Colorado. We gotta undo those associations a bit.

I love the snow..! It slows us down, in this speedy life where we’re always trying to pack a dozen things into every minute.

It’s peaceful, quieting, stilling, in a life where we seek to avoid boring.

It’s fun to play in and on!

It’s gorgeous when the snow is so deep, white, bright that the mountains are brighter than the sky above.

And particularly after the recent fires here in Colorado, that burned 1000 plus homes when we should have had a White Christmas…

…I wish we’d all start appreciating snow for the anti-drought gift that it is in this era of us-caused climate crisis.

The magic of four seasons helps us, especially as kids, learn to appreciate the preciousness of time!
