The Wellness Trends of 2022

The idea of wellness has been becoming more of a mainstream topic in the past few years as more individuals look inwardly to make vital lifestyle changes to benefit their mental health. Although the idea of wellness dates back to the 20th century, one could argue that even the earliest forms of civilization embraced wellness ideals that we strive after today. Many of the wellness practices in modern society were the everyday habits of our ancestors.

Nevertheless, wellness leaders and influencers continue inspiring new trends in this area, with some of the newest trends being listed below.

Mental Wellness Is #1

Whether you hold the pandemic responsible or have had to walk through extenuating life circumstances, it doesn’t come as a surprise that the vast majority of individuals have taken a deeper look at their mental wellness and discovered many ways in which it could improve. With not every individual having the financial resources to access therapy, many have turned to wellness practices that support their well-being. One of the top methods individuals have turned to is exercise. As elementary as it sounds, moving the body can have significant impacts on one’s mental health, leading individuals to take daily walks, practice yoga, and engage in physical sports.

Increased Interest in Facial Exercises

The lower two-thirds of your body aren’t the only areas that can engage in exercise. Facial exercises have been on the rise and are becoming a more widespread daily practice. Activities like face yoga and basic movements help tone one’s facial muscles and contribute to a better aging process. Not only can these exercises soften wrinkles and give one a brighter complexion, but they can also serve as a beneficial way to de-stress, as much tension is often held in the forehead and mind. Without exerting too much energy, facial exercises can help relieve a lot of built-up stress.

More Involvement With Animals

Many individuals picture wellness as an activity done in solitude. However, there are countless benefits to including others in your journey to wellness, even if those “others” are animals. Animal-oriented wellness experiences might sound like an intriguing way to spend an afternoon. While their unorthodox imagery is different from most, they also have numerous benefits proven to assist in one’s mental health journey. From goat yoga to equine therapy to dog-friendly workplaces, these interactions with animals are becoming a credible avenue for wellness.
