It is a sad day today for this country as we crawl backward into dark ages of suppression and ignorance … It is tragic and deeply unjust that so many women will no longer have the freedom to choose how to care for their bodies. It is a a blight on this nation’s story, and I feel ashamed that this is what we manifest to the world…. My heart hurts, and I long for some humane place to land, to feel safe and proud.
For all women – and especially the disadvantaged – I bow down and say, “I am so very deeply sorry you are now prisoners in this system…”
I know it’s a beautiful day out there in many places in America today on this June 24th, but it is historically a dark one for women and children – and any sense of humanity.
May the members of this troubling court some day discover just what harm they have been party to and feel sorrow and compassion for their fellow beings… Can they find forgiveness for what they have brought into being?
