Landscapes of reality seem to change and with that comes the idea that we have to change to match that environment, but that thought needs adjusting. It is possible to change as the landscapes of life, from abundant to lack, alone to surrounded, happy to miserable and all the rest, move through our lives.
Change is not the issue.
The landscapes – however pleasant or unpleasant – are a reminder of how in control, directed, focussed and synchronized we are in our current position in time and space. If we were to stand stationary on a revolving platform and as the backdrop moved, it exposed us to a traditional cowboy theme, with cactis, horses, gunfire and revolvers, we would feel the impact. The same would take place if the next revolving theme bought a back drop of an office space, desk, piles of papers, windows and spilt coffee . . . we would feel the impact. This would also be the same if the backdrop were a mountain garden with trees, food, rabbits, a spring and grass hoppers discovering the cabbages . . . we would feel the impact.
Such is life.
And yet, people try so hard to cling onto the same backdrop for a whole lifetime and feel the pressure and stress when it suddenly changes through death of a loved one, divorce, loss of property, kids leaving home, a new baby, an affair, or a change in their work.
How people transition from one backdrop to the next is dependant upon something inside. Something solid and immovable . . . call it faith or trust or a knowing. . . it is a feeling that regardless of circumstances, allows the human being to feel centred and unafraid.
This is absent in out society.
Humans are changing as each backdrop changes and when the cowboy theme of lawlessness and convicts becomes a part of their reality, they become either cowboys or convicts – depending upon their nature.
Nothing is holding them.
They change and move with the backdrops each time they revolve, and we wonder why humans seem to be displaced, out of sorts, shizophrenic, disassociated, chaotic and all over the place.
In fact – unrecognisable.
Who are you?
We ask . . . and they cannot answer the question from that place of assurety.
Why is that so?
We ask . . . and they seem lost, confused and have no place to take their thoughts to find the best answer.
They can find the answers that match their act in the current backdrop (the picture of life now) – but that is all.
As time is disappearing, the backdrops are coming faster and revolving through consciousness at a speed that blurs the senses. Those that are changing as fast as they can, are struggling with the demands for change and disassociating themselves to keep up. They are applying mask after mask, stage makeup and gear to appear to belong on the set, but no sooner have they become the next act, they have to drop it and gear up for the next one.
The transitions are fallng apart at the seams and exhaustion is setting in . . . a numbing and sobering apathy that causes them to eventually, give up.
Giving up has its perks because it simulates the state of not engaging in the continuous changing of appearances, but disengages them from the joy of human life.
They no longer care . . . life is now automatic and they go with the flow.
They have the luxury of not having to be informed, to give life meaning and to make a difference.
This simulates an easy life . . . a life without worry and care . . . but the undercurrent is an abdication from the value of life itself.
The answer is not here.
The greatest and most loving choice is in learning how to be present, prepared, positive, and purposeful.
Let go of the past – what kind of cowboy you were makes no difference when your backdrop is one of a corporate take over. What kind of paper pusher you once were makes no difference when your current backdrop is showing you that you can dig deeper, become wiser and learn to be still and assured.
Going forward, means allowing the change of scenery, simulating the movement of change going forward, but inside . . . you are holding within yourself, that assured state of peace and joy regardless, so that you begin to draw to you, the backdrops that suit you.
And not the other way around.
You can tell the difference between the humans that are playing out each backdrop that life is throwing at them and those that are holding their inner space to bring about the backdrop they prefer.
Who are you?
