We have Always Been Running Out of Time.

It seems like we wait for damn near everything.

We wait for our coffee order. We wait for our dry-cleaning. We wait at traffic lights.

Some of these things are inescapable. But others are not. We wait to start or end relationships. We wait to go on vacation. We wait to tell people how we feel.

We are always waiting. Waiting for tomorrow. Or for next week. Or for the next paycheck. For a better job. For the perfect partner.

We are always waiting.

The problem with this, however, is that we have always been running out of time. We’ve been running out of time since the minute we were born. So why, then, are we always waiting?

My advice? Don’t wait. I know it’s not that simple, but maybe it could be. If we started taking leaps of faith and spent less time being afraid, we could do more of the things that we want to do.

Perhaps I sound a little impulsive. Maybe a bit impatient. I guess I am, given how short our time on this earth really is.

Need to tell someone something? Tell them right now—today. Make sure you say the important words. Don’t leave them wondering. Tell people how you feel about them and why they are important to you.

Want to visit that place? If you can, make it happen right away. You don’t want to regret not going. Scour the internet for deals. Start a side hustle to make some extra money. Put yourself on a budget. I’m sure you can figure out a way to find something affordable.

If you are lucky enough to have someone to love, tell them as often as possible how much you love them. Make sure they know. Don’t ever let them wonder. It is impossible to tell them too many times. Kiss and hug them as much as you can.

If you have a chance to be happy, take it, no matter the obstacles in your way. Obstacles are meant to be overcome. So, just go for it already. Whether it be changing jobs or moving cross-country, do it.

Life is meant to be an adventure. And the adventure starts with action, so start soon before you miss your chance.
