Have you ever heard of the Tapping In Method? It’s a technique that I recently discovered, and I can’t believe the difference it has made in my life.
The method is simple. It focuses on three main things, you being a soul, returning your awareness to your soul, and positive emotion. All you have to do is start by tapping on the palm of your hand while thinking of a positive memory. As you tap, you try to feel the same emotions that you felt during that moment, not just the memory itself. It’s like trying to recreate the feeling of joy or contentment that you experienced during that happy memory, while actually just sitting at your desk or laying on the sofa.
At first, I was skeptical. How could tapping on my hand and thinking of a happy memory have any effect on me? But as I tried it, I felt a noticeable change in my awareness. It was like my focus shifted from my busy mind to somewhere else. I felt a sense of calm and clarity that I hadn’t experienced in a real’ long time.
I started incorporating this technique into my daily routine. Whenever I felt overwhelmed or anxious, I would take ten minutes to remove myself and practice the technique. It helped me stay present and centered, even during a few very stressful situations.
The tapping in method is not just a simple technique. It’s a powerful tool that can help you connect with your inner self and bring more positivity into your life. It can help you release negative emotions and find inner peace.
If you’re interested in trying it out, the instructions are as follows.
- Begin by finding a quiet and comfortable place where you won’t be disturbed and choose to either sit or lie down. I always lie down but maybe that is because I am so used to reiki treatments. Close your eyes and cup your hands together, with a thumb placed in the palm of the other hand. You can then start tapping your thumb. Don’t worry about the speed or pressure of your taps. Just let it happen. The website where I first learned the technique, Novus.Center, says that this is the speed of your body currently.
- Now, try and think of a happy memory. A time when you experienced a completely positive emotion and try to feel that emotion again just as it was then. Focus solely on the emotion itself, rather than the memory or thought associated with it. Your soul is only capable of working with positive energy, so let yourself connect with that energy as you continue to focus on the positive emotion. Avoid visualizing anything and maintain your body’s focus on emotional feelings.
- As you begin to “tap in” and start shifting your awareness to your soul, you may experience a lack of physical presence, a blankness of the mind, serenity, and blissful calm. Continue to stay in this moment for as long as you want or have the time to. As I mentioned earlier I have had a lot of reiki treatment in the past and generally feel calm and relaxed but moving awareness back to my soul and not feeling my physical body or the environment around me; that was something I had never felt before.
- When you want to end, just move awareness back to your body, and remember that you are still fully you, the soul that is connected to and controls a body. Open your eyes and take a few deep breaths. I like to make a note of anything that is in my mind after I open my eyes and how I’m feeling.
Since my first practice, it has definitely felt like diving in at the deepened. I couldn’t get enough! Right now I’m looking at what else I can take from this new knowledge. But I will say, if what I have already experienced is the limit, that is already enough for me to continue it daily.
Incorporate the practice into your daily routine, and you’ll start to notice a difference in your awareness and overall well-being, I’m sure of it. The tapping in method is super simple and a very effective way to connect with your soul and bring more positivity into your life.
