As a female, following your menstrual cycle can have a significant impact on your physical and emotional wellbeing. But did you know that understanding your cycle can play a role in how you are attracting a partner? When you become attuned to the different phases of your cycle and the changes that occur during each phase, you can use this knowledge to your advantage and enhance your ability to call in aligned potential partners.
Before we take a closer look at each phase, It’s important to note that hormone birth control can alter the natural changes that occur during each phase of the menstrual cycle. Hormonal birth control works by suppressing ovulation and altering hormone levels, which can impact your mood, energy levels, and overall well being. If you are currently on hormonal birth control, it may be difficult to accurately track your menstrual cycle and understand the changes that occur during each phase.
Furthermore, hormonal birth control can also impact your attraction to potential partners. Research has found that women on hormonal birth control may be less attracted to masculine features in men, which can impact their mate selection. This is because hormonal birth control alters hormone levels and can affect the way that women perceive and respond to sexual cues.
If you are interested in using your menstrual cycle to enhance your attractiveness to potential partners, it may be best to come off hormonal birth control. This can allow you to track your menstrual cycle more accurately and experience the natural changes that occur during each phase.
However, it’s important to discuss any changes to your birth control with your healthcare provider before making any decisions. They can help you weigh the risks and benefits of hormonal birth control and provide guidance on alternative methods of birth control that may be more suitable for your needs.
Speaking from my personal experience of being on birth control for over a decade, and then going off it and shortly after attracting my partner, I can see how my perception had been previously warped. I’m by no means trying to shame or tell anyone what to do, rather to educate and inform as there is only a small window of the female egg being fertilised and I personally believe it’s far easier to track naturally and remain safe.
Let’s take a closer look at each phase and what you can do to maximize your appeal.
Follicular Phase
The follicular phase is the first phase of the menstrual cycle, and it starts on the first day of your period and lasts for approximately 14 days. During this phase, your body is preparing to release an egg. Your estrogen levels start to rise, which increases your energy and can make you feel more outgoing and confident. This is the perfect time to socialize and meet new people.
What to do: Schedule social events and outings during this phase (after the approx 5 days menstruation). Take advantage of your increased energy and put yourself out there. Try new activities and hobbies that interest you, and don’t be afraid to strike up conversations with people you find attractive.
Ovulation Phase
The ovulation phase is the most fertile phase of the menstrual cycle, and it usually occurs around day 14. During this phase, your body releases an egg that can be fertilized by sperm, resulting in pregnancy. Your estrogen levels reach their peak during this phase, which can make you feel more attractive and alluring. You may notice that your skin looks clearer, your hair is shinier, and your voice is more melodious.
What to do: This is the perfect time to plan a romantic date or spend time with potential matches. Dress up and show off your best features. Wear clothes that accentuate your curves and use makeup to highlight your natural beauty. Your increased estrogen levels can also make you more flirtatious, so don’t be afraid to be a little more forward, if it’s a promising match, it will be well received!
Luteal Phase
The luteal phase is the phase that follows ovulation and lasts for approximately 14 days. During this phase, your body prepares for pregnancy (it doesn’t actually know till the bleed or not if you are pregnant, so notice what you experience psychologically) by increasing progesterone levels. This can cause you to feel more emotional and irritable than usual. However, progesterone can also have a calming effect, which can make you appear more attractive to others.
What I notice during this phase is that I subconsciously test my partner to see if he really is going to be that strong provider type for when a baby will arrive! It’s truly fascinating to notice this primal and intuitive nurturing quality which can lead to confrontations from putting pressure on my partner.
What to do: This is a good time to focus on self-care and relaxation. Take time for yourself and engage in activities that help you de-stress, such as yoga or meditation. Try to avoid confrontations and arguments, notice these and give yourself space to respond rather than react as your emotions may be heightened during this phase.
Menstruation Phase
The menstrual phase usually lasts for around five days. During this phase, the uterus sheds its lining, causing bleeding. Your hormone levels are at their lowest during this phase, which can make you feel fatigued and less energetic.
What to do: This is a good time to rest and recharge. Listen to your body and take it easy. Engage in gentle exercises such as walking or swimming, which can help alleviate cramps and other menstrual symptoms. Don’t worry too much about your appearance during this phase, as your focus should be on your physical and emotional wellbeing.
In conclusion, following your menstrual cycle can be a powerful tool for attracting a partner. By understanding the different phases of your cycle and the changes that occur during each phase, you can use this knowledge to your advantage and enhance your attractiveness to potential partners. Remember to take care of yourself, listen to your body, and be confident in your natural beauty.
