Richard Williams, PhD, remembers what it was like to have been in graduate school with Martin Luther King, Jr. at Boston University during the 1950’s. Among other reminiscences, Williams also relates an early episode of civil rights organizing and action undertaken on behalf of King himself, who suffered discrimination in housing policy in Boston at that time. Williams relates how organized students waged a campaign to change through sanction unjust and, ultimately, immoral policies.
