Hope is a spiritual strength.
Ever since I was a little girl and with all of my heart, I’ve believed in magic and miracles. For me, magic is this feeling of wondrous, imaginary, festive, creative, and curious energy that is often shamed out of us or leaves us when we get older but I’ve always been nourished by the purity of it. It is the spark of my aliveness and it has allowed me to live life with a very open heart.
Throughout my life, I’ve watched magic appear in the most miraculous and mundane places. I’ve watched it dance across the faces of people I love, their eyes lighting up like a sky full of stars. I’ve heard it in the timbre of their voices, a resonance that acts as a powerful beacon, drawing me into the magic they carry within. I’ve felt it in the way they move, like a bolt of lightning through my senses. I’ve seen it hidden in plain sight through their idiosyncrasies. I’ve been moved by it in the way they channel their energy into their passion, and embody the very essence of their purpose.
Yet, life’s course can take unexpected turns, leading to moments where even the most unwavering magic appears to disappear, leaving behind an unfamiliar emptiness.
As my life unfolded with magic woven into every thread, I reveled in its presence. Yet, there came a time when I watched as the magic left—a transformative chapter that left me standing in uncharted territory, grappling with the absence of that cherished spark. I realized that because I never had to look for it, I didn’t know how to find it.
In the past, I couldn’t see a world without magic yet it is a world without magic which has taught me more than one with it ever did.
As I navigated this, I began to realize that the absence of magic wasn’t an endpoint but a passage—a bridge to a deeper understanding of the transformative potential residing within vulnerability.
There have been courageous souls who, at times have shared with me when their heart was closed. This revealed a deep fear in me for I believed it signified love’s departure, and I felt compelled to try to anchor it and prevent its escape. In truth, it is in those precious moments of one’s vulnerability that love is right there waiting to be given and received. The moments where the heart reveals itself are pure magic.
When all of our fear has left, all that remains is love.
Love has never left.
To carry hope within your heart is a sign of your innocence, a pure love that illuminates even the darkest of nights. Hope means you are connected to a place beyond your current circumstances or challenges. It means you are able to touch the place within you that remains untouched by this world and its challenges. You are tethered to a reality that is within your reach.
As I sat with my own—heart often desperately looking for hope and a glimmer of magic, I came to know the tenderness of a closed heart and so desperately wanting it to be open again. In that place, I learned to acknowledge that sometimes life hurts more than I want it to, for all of us. It is in this lesson that I was given the gift of exploring the depths of my heart and it has deepened how much love I have to give. I hope you discover that in your own heart too.
Hope is the dream of a soul awake – French Proverb
If you’re struggling to find the magic in your life because you’re apart from those you love, you’ve experienced loss, or you’re not able to find it in all the things that once brought it to you, I see you and offer you this…
Stay true because what’s yours has never left you.
What you truly believe in your heart of hearts will reveal itself once again. So, dear one have faith and trust that magic and miracles are on their way to you at this very moment.
My wish for you:
May the long-time Sun shine upon you, all love surround you, and the pure light within you guide your way home.
Yours in wonder,
Alison
