Moon in Taurus, Sun in Scorpio
This Full Moon energy is exceptional in two ways: it’s got the potential for a huge serving of yum-yum sauce – or – it could be very depressing, exhausting and distracting.
Which will it be?
Of course, as always during a Full Moon: the Sun and Moon are 180 degrees apart, however this time the Full Moon has a very large dose of Jupiter standing next to it, hence the yum-yum sauce. Jupiter is always the party animal, the one who says – one more please – the one who always orders the dessert. The planet that expands, exaggerates and enhances everything it touches – is showing up on the Full Moon.
So here’s the lineup: Sun and Mars and Mercury are all in Scorpio, and then standing opposite are three planets: the Moon, Jupiter and Uranus. We have a vitally important conversation brewing. Think of Scorpio – it is the scorpion, an energetic that elicits menacing feelings, bringing forward great fears and scaring us. Taurus on the other hand is sweet, kind and comforting – think Winnie the Pooh. A sweet energy that longs to cuddle, eat honey and give you comfort.
You can’t get two more opposite energies than an animal who can kill you in the dark –OR– a mythical character famous for eating too much, speaking to his friend, all the while soothing the neighborhood and all its members with kindness.
See how opposite they are? Reminds me of today. Just like our present times – for so many of us we have a lifetime not unfamiliar to a king or queen. We have enough food, the temperature in our house creates a perfect atmosphere. We can push so many different buttons to distract or entertain ourselves, 24/7. We always have a roof over our heads, while the others suffer, living a life with no home, no safety, not even fresh water? What is that: such polarity.
Which will it be for us? Will we face reality or choose distraction? Can we face what is occurring in the Ukraine, in Israel and Gaza, on our borders, in Afghanistan and so many other countries where it is so sad? Not to mention the climate crisis looming, or the very scary events in the American government with a new election just ahead and the inability to even find a speaker for the House? So many countries and people everywhere are suffering.
Do we talk about that and move into that scary feeling or do we focus, as the New Age teachers insist, on the positive? I do both. I live with the endless question: Why do we hurt each other? And then I am blown away by you and your fascination with all things Astrology. It makes my heart sing. I see love everywhere I look.
I do both. All. Day. Long. What about you? During this Full Moon I grant you the right to feel confused and insecure as a Taurus does on the low road AND as powerful and effective as a Scorpio feels when they complete their task – which they always do.
You do both. Tell me what polarity you suffer from, what opposites are pulling you in different directions? I am so curious – not just about you, but about the means with which we find to navigate through such polarities as we do all the time.
This Full Moon is particularly strong: I’d love to hear how you’re feeling.
P.S. I am including a piece of writing about Israel and the human story from a Taurus friend and Astrologer, because her writing just made me sing. I felt so glad to be reading her gorgeous work and wanted to share it with you.
