Orange pineapple sunset in a mango peach sky
hangs over a cyan sea with waves slipping on by.
Pumpkins line the streets and trees have cherry colored leaves.
It is fall in New England and there’s nowhere I’d rather be.
Now the moon has a ring around it
and the clouds are like ghosts, what does that mean?
I love to sit next to you
and wonder what you’re thinking.
You ask me and I say nothing because I’m just taking it all in.
These technicolor dreams are coming true
and are bursting at the seems.
We pause and take a beat
at your favorite part of the street
with the marsh and the curve of the river
you love to capture.
Oh here we go driving down another road
eyes wide open and not a heavy load.
Tunes in the air
care free vibes everywhere,
where does the time go?
Maybe it collects like tide pools
in our memories.
We slowly discover them when the tide gets low
the best remain and are hidden under the seaweed
like star fish and sea urchins that might as well be from Mars.
But what about tomorrow my mind starts to think.
I tell myself to live for the present and to let it all go.
