Netanyahu, Netanyahu, what drives merciless violence?

Anger, power, vengeance, blind retribution? Certainly not righteous defense!

Good hearts the world over stand witness to violence against God. Good hearts, noble hearts, do not become evil to fight evil. Good hearts, noble hearts, are driven by the highest law. Good hearts, noble hearts, defend righteousness, not kill it.

The noble Jew would tell us, “Whatever is hateful and distasteful to you, do not do to your fellow man. This is the entire Torah, the rest is commentary. Go learn.” [i]

The noble Muslim would lay down his body to protest Hamas, “None of you has faith until he loves for his brother what he loves for himself.” [ii]

The noble Christian would challenge all wayward Christians, “Therefore all things whatsoever ye would that men should do to you, do ye even so to them: for this is the law and the prophets.” [iii]

For there is not one atom in creation that is not of God, nor one solar beam that is not a ray of His Being, nor one molecular strand that is not designed to benefit His One Life Living, as we ourselves in His image were so made. Your God, their God, our God are one and the same. There can exist none other but the One who is not yours, theirs, or ours to claim, but to feel and love permeating all human wrappings.

Netanyahu, Netanyahu, were our own brothers, sisters, children, parents, and grandparents held hostage in a building by weapon wielding maniacs, would we order that the building be obliterated? The world’s heart suffers with each innocent face of God seen lifeless, bleeding, shelter-less, starving, thirsting in the heinous rubble made of their bodies and homes. Only the Godless commit such atrocities, the terrorists, the Hitlers, the Putins and their never-ending chain of wannabe’s who nuke Life’s innocence to control pieces of the earth that are meaningless in the end.

Are our eyes so blind, our hearts so hardened, our minds so deluded that we cannot see, cannot feel, cannot conceive that the seeds of hatred toward Israel are being planted into each bomb crater to undoubtedly sprout and spread like kudzu for generations to come? Which of the prophets’ laws is Israel heeding, a nation peopled with Holocaust survivors? What God would assault His own by violent purging when forgiveness is the means through which He heals?

Violation of the highest Law of Love transforms the persecuted into the persecutor.

Let us wake up! Open our hearts! It’s not too late. Listen to and feel the cries of the human soul begging the end to this vengeful insanity. If we cannot, let us hand the power to the Peacemakers who know how to rally Love’s warriors. Only they know that the power of Love can ultimately tear down the walls that separate, remove all checkpoints guarded by fear and make the tunnels of terrorism unnecessary.

What happens to hatred-fueling terrorists when their perceived enemy joins hearts with goodness? When their perceived enemy rebuilds rather than destroys, when their perceived enemy cares for their wounded, feeds their hungry, quenches the thirst of their thirsty while sharing the vision of a united people of varied colors, creeds, and traditions honoring and supporting one another in holy relationship? Only those who can reach into the hearts of all and love them for the sake of God can bring Peace to hell where godlessness reigns.

This, Netanyahu, is Israel’s moment to show the world how the divine powers of forgiveness and contrition can extinguish the smoldering stench of destruction. This is Israel’s moment to surrender to the goodness inherent in the Jewish soul which shares that loving power with souls everywhere.

Our sacred duty to Life is to soar high above the battlefield, to become Seers of good and evil, and to choose to establish ourselves as warriors of goodness intent on removing all barriers to its fullest expression. Choose goodness, and we will join those leading our world toward divine Peace.

Continue in self-righteous evil, terrorizing the innocents, and our godlessness ensures a future of suffering.
