Make Metaphorical Snow Angels in Yoga Class
For the past couple of weeks the San Francisco Bay Area has been inexcusably cold. Frost-on-the-cars-in-the-morning cold. Shiver-in-your-bones cold. I officially protest. This weather pisses me off. One of the reasons I left Ohio, and then Colorado, and then New York City was to escape the dark chill of winter. Don’t get me wrong, I see and appreciate the symbolism of the season – death, followed by rebirth in the spring. But when it’s 38 degrees outside, poetic symbolism is quickly replaced by the reality of having to wear a down jacket on my morning run, and that is just not the California I signed up for.
Thankfully, at Bright Antenna we have yoga to warm us up.
This week’s playlist is a sort of “if you can’t beat ’em, join ’em” kind of jam. A collection of songs that sound like winter.
Today, yoga class will be equivalent to making metaphorical snow angels.
