Living in Death: A Tribute to Nelson Mandela (Beloved Madiba of the World). ~ L.Gyalpo {Poem}

“I learned that courage was not the absence of fear, but the triumph over it. The brave man is not he who does not feel afraid, but he who conquers that fear.” ~ Nelson Mandela

Does it matter
Who you were born as
In a shack, or a high rise
What bearing on whom you become?

Does it matter
Who you were born as
Rich, poor, king or a queen
What pride or spite do you take?

Does it matter
If they smiled
or cried on your birth
What does that means to you?

Does it matter
If you held a broom in hands
Or a silver spoon in mouth
When born what’s that you chose?

Does it matter
If you lay on barren earth
Or in an ivory cradle
What is it that you created?

Does it matter
If you were bestowed
With wealth, care or non
What is it that you lost to own?

Yet, it matters
Who would you die as
Abandoned, or admired
Impacted on many lives

It matters
What you leave behind
An unflinching hope or dreadful memory
It says what you owned

It matters
If they cry or laugh
On your demise
Did earth lose or gain?

It matters
In blood and bone
You lived limited or beyond
Obvious or boundless in imagination

It matters a lot
Who accompanies on your last ride
Faith in good, or malice of scorn
That’s how you chose to live

Yes, it matters a lot
On the last day a retrospect paints
A sky of smiling faces, or fearful apparitions
That is what you created

It matters indeed
How people remember you
An apostle of love or an eccentric brat
That’s what you brought to life

It matters
for the posterity
Whether you convey a message
In death as in life or not!
