The Law of Attraction is just one of the universal laws.

While life doesn’t come with a handbook, it does come with a nifty set of twelve universal laws. We each have missions on our own unique paths. Along the way we will come across situations, people and environments to survive. While a survivor continues to identify with what they survived, a thriver transcends that mindset, moving above and beyond the lesson-teaching situations, people and environments.

Here’s a quick lesson on how to use the universal laws to become a thriver.

1. Recognize we are all one.

The Law of Oneness tells us that everything and everyone in this world is tied to everything and everyone in this world. What we believe, think, do or say has an effect on the universe. We are as important as anyone else and they are as important as us.

It helps to remember this when judging ourselves or others. We are one thread of an energy source that is connected to everything: respect the oneness of all things.

This law is helpful in forgiving and moving past a victim mindset.

2. Everything in the Universe vibrates.

The Law of Energy or Vibration tells us that all things are made of energy. Vibration is in the world we see and in the world we don’t see such as our thoughts, feelings, desires and dreams. We need to trust our ability to “sense” the energies or “pick up the vibes” around objects, places and other people.

We can consciously align ourselves with the energy of what feels good and move away or let go of what feels bad, using the power of our thoughts and emotions as analytical tools.

This law is helpful in learning to trust our intuition.

3. Act and we shall receive.

The Law of Action tells us that we must act in order to bring results. We must choose our actions carefully with an eye on the desired outcome, engaging only in actions that support the thoughts, dreams, emotions and words we want in our lives. We can’t sit and expect things to fall into our laps without effort.

This law is helpful in learning to act with a purpose.

4. As inside, so it is outside.

The Law of Correspondence tells us that the outer world reflects the inner world. If we want to change external circumstances in our lives, we need to make a corresponding shift in our inner world. This Law says we are in charge of our own life and how we want it to be.

By accepting responsibility for our life we move from being a victim to a conscious creator. We maintain the integrity of our inner world with fierce strength. We must not hold onto negative emotions or we will see them reflected in the outer world. We should feel free to interrupt our thoughts or words if we see them heading down a negative path.

5. What we do comes back to us.

The Law of Cause and Effect tells us that every action has an appropriate reaction. There are no secrets in this world. Expect that all of our actions—good and bad—will be reflected back to us. We need to take responsibility for what happens in our life by examining our own thoughts and actions and see how we contribute to what is around us.

This law is helpful in accepting ourselves for what we are.

6. Get back what we give to others.

The Law of Compensation tells us that compensation is the direct result of our deeds. We share abundance according to our current ability. We must be generous and give to others on every level and abundance and prosperity will return to us.

This law is helpful in promoting generosity and sharing.

7. Like attracts like.

No doubt we are all familiar with the Law of Attraction, which tells us tot align ourself with what we want. This Law is not about simply wishing or hoping or visualizing. It instructs us to align ourself in every way with our desired outcome. The thoughts, actions and energy we send to the world attracts like energies.

This law is a great check for monitoring ourself as a whole.

8. Go with the flow.

The Law of Perpetual Transmutation of Energy tells us that energy is in constant motion and all energy eventually manifests. We have the power to change any condition in our life. Producing a higher vibration consumes and transforms lower ones. This is powerful stuff. If we don’t like the path we’re on, we can change it. Trying to force or resist change leads to unnecessary struggle.

This law is a great teacher for learning how to let go.

9. It is what it is.

The Law of Relativity tells us that nothing is one way until it has been experienced and compared to something else. In life we will receive a series of situations to strengthen ourselves. No matter how bad we perceive our situation, there is always a situation we can imagine that is worse—relatively.

This law helps us learn to use life’s challenges to lift ourselves to a better position.

10. All things have an opposite.

The Law of Polarity tells us that one thing cannot exist without its opposite. We use polarity to create our focus—to change an undesirable thought or situation  we simply concentrate on the opposite thought. Thoughts and ideas that are not working for our highest good can be removed by consciously directing our attention to their opposite.

This law is helpful in learning how to accept and not attach.

11. This too shall pass.

The Law of Rhythm tells us that all energy vibrates and moves according to its own rhythm. These rhythms become cycles and patterns. Think of the moments that make up a day, the seasons that make up a year. Learn to recognize and rise above any parts of a cycle, observing the temporality.

This is a great law to observe when practicing non-attachment.

12. All things have both masculine and feminine energies.

The Law of Gender identifies the feminine and masculine of life, making them the basis for all creation. As spiritual beings we must balance the masculine and feminine energies within our inner world in order to recognize the yin and yang of the outer world.

This law teaches us to have patience and persistence.
