I have been writing poetry since I could barely sound out words.
Yet, like many introverted poets, I much preferred to hide behind my pen and paper— or Macbook Pro, these days—than to be seen.
Until I hit my limit with the state of the world.
War, hatred, apathy, lack of personal responsibility, egoism, disconnectedness, carelessness in how we treat each other, animals, the environment…so many vital segments of living peaceful, holistically harmonious lives are halted or moving in the opposite direction.
While I I have always felt powerless, I often remind myself of the quote from His Holiness the Dalai Lama:
“If you think you are too small to make a difference, try sleeping with a mosquito.”
So, with the help of my absolutely incredible love, who happens to be an amazing videographer and music producer, my poetry evolved into a more fiery Spoken Word direction, better suited to encompass my passion and hopeful yearning for a more enlightened society.

Mass Insanity
In fragile times of great unrest
When crimes profuse in moral protest
And hostility ensues, while civility arrests
I implore compassion with fervent behest.
We point away to shift the blame
Our echoed retort of disjointed shame
Ah, yet apathy doth fuel the flame
Yes, we alone perpetuate This… Sick… Game.
Awaken to that which cannot be ignored
Or writhe in the wasteland of what once was yours…
And mine—now a delusion of lies whored
Out whilst the world casually dies, For
a once brainwashed society now cries ‘war’
Against themselves? Or…
Demise of this corrupt apex at the core.
No more.
It is time for a Revolution.
We are so far beyond a simple solution
for we need to purge away this sick institution
that has normalized the unmindful execution
of morality, kindness, compassion, & the evolution
of an enlightened society.
It is now time to wake up.
